“Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall.” ~Larry Wilde
I love NY at Christmastime. The tree at Rockefeller Center (the 75th) is pretty fancy this year. It has LED lights that are solar powered. The Tree at Rockefeller Center website has lots of cool pictures and info about the tree and the lights and the solar panels. Ok, so they still kill a beautiful live tree. But, they recycle it.

I did some consulting near Shelton. That area of Connecticut is beautiful! The tree is pretty cool too.

I am so proud of you, Julie! I know I’ve fallen off the face of the earth, but today I was doing my dishes (from last night) and thinking about your book and wondering when it was coming out. We still must be juicing off the same vibes, because, I just poked my head in to see what was going on over here, and….well, I’m just so happy for you! I can’t wait to read it. Cap and I are going to stalk you now.

Thanks. You can Cap can stalk me anytime. She’s got the eagle eyes now, so she’ll be really good at it. Well, I suppose it’s not hard to stalk someone who sits at a desk all day writing…

This is the first time in thirty some years that I have an artificial tree. Why? I just didn’t feel like dealing with a real tree. I absolutely love it. I put it where I could never put it before because of the heat. In front of my triple window in my dining room. And when I fix an ornament on the tree all the needles don’t fall off.
P.S. My eyes are awesome and yes, I can see way better now then before. Tell your sister she has to get it done it was worth every penny. I don’t even need reading glasses.

Eye envy. Eye ennnn..veee!! It hurts. Actually, Cap, your love for your new eyes is inspiring me to actually save some money for lasix.

This is going to pose a problem for Cap’s ADD. She gets bored easily. Could you start sitting naked at your desk? Or maybe get a hottie to sit in your chair and you can lap dance while you write?

LASIK!!! Where did CAP get this done? I am SOOOOO ready, but I want a good place. How bad were Cap’s eyes to start since mine are horrible. TELL ALL.
Remember when Jen got to wear an eye patch after scratching her eye on the Christmas tree? A-har, matey. See, I knew I could tie in Christmas Trees and eyes in this comment.
Hurray! Book! Hurray! Book! Totally having a book signing party in the summer! Can’t wait. Way to go! You have an ISBN. That is cool.

Dr. Shah looked at me shaking his head and said with his accent Kristina, your eyesight is…is…ridiculous. Does that give you any idea how bad my vision was. Did you hear that, I said WAS. Yay..
I had a very bad astigmatism which in the last year made it very difficult to wear my lens comfortably. That was my deciding factor. I just couldn’t see wearing glasses the rest of my life. My vision was -8, what ever that means. The doctor wasn’t even sure if he could correct my vision completely the first time. He said I might need to come back in six months to have an enhancement done and he couldn’t guarantee that I wouldn’t need glasses for those six months.
They want you to keep your lens out for 3 weeks before your evaluation but I didn’t want to so I wasn’t a candidate. The doctor said that wearing lens causes the curvature of your eyes to be abnormal. So keeping my lens out for 3 weeks would give me a better chance. The worse 3 weeks in my life not knowing if I was a candidate.
Three week later I went for another exam. test, after, test, after, test, looking good, looking good, looking good. finally when they came out with that little black bag I knew I was there.
Oh yeah, Lasik Plus in King of Prussia. The staff was excellent, they couldn’t of been more compassionate, helpful, and understanding. Because of my ridiculous vision I couldn’t get the basic lasik, I had to get PRK. Longer healing and more painful. (more money) It was only one day of pain but man it hurt. I literally slept for three days. Went back to work on Tuesday. I had to wear reading glasses for a month but now I don’t. It takes up to three months for the eyes to completely correct themselves.
If I could get it done, anyone can get it done. Do it.. It was the best thing I ever did in my life. You can call me if you want to talk about it. Julie has my email. And I heard a couple of horror stories and I still did it. If you have don’t listen to them just call me.
I think I covered everything. Any questions just ask.

I like my glasses. I think I am ugly without them. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 7, but spent about ten years pretending not to need them. I went through numerous pairs of contacts and HATED them. Finally, the year I got married, my eyes had crossed the line. I couldn’t read road signs anymore. Bother.
But I’m cool with the glasses now, ten years later. Like I said, I think I look funny without them.

I had my lasik done in Thailand. I also had a bad astigmatism, but the mad Thai eye doctor gave me 20/20, I never had to wear glasses afterwards, and it was never painful. My eyes would get really dry for several weeks afterwards though, so I was constantly using prescription eyedrops, but now I’m fine.

I didn’t have any funky eye patches like that to wear. They do give you funky sunglasses to wear for 2 weeks. My procedure didn’t involve cutting, just laser, four minutes per eye. I was lucky no itching or burning but I did have dry eyes and still do sometimes. I wasn’t instructed not to squint but I did have to sleep for 4 to 6 hours after treatment, they prescribe something for you to take. It took 2 months but my eyes now are 20/25. The acuity plans allows me to have free enhancements for life.
