“As Your Attorney, I Advise You to Post a Link”

“Fanciful Collage of Beggar Girl” by Ralph Steadman

Have you been glaring at the neighbors a little too much lately? Complaining that you want a Mac instead of a PC? Wishing your SUV had a DVD so you could go to WDW without so much whining from the KID? Well, cheer up. Turns out, even if you’re broke and in debt, you’re still financially better off than most of the people in the world. Go see for yourself by plugging your income into the Global Rich List calculator. Really, do it. Your wallet will feel so FAT.

That brings me to the subject of this post. I’ve been advised by my attorney, a wise man who looks out for my well being at every turn, to put a PayPal link on my site. Since you now know how rich you are, I say it’s time to get magnanimous and Support the Arts! (Donations may or may not be tax deductible. It really depends on how clever you are with your taxes.)

My attorney’s advice came after reading about my dismal passport situation (expired). He also informed me that I’ll need my passport to go to both Canada and Mexico. He keeps me abreast of all the news I miss when my head is elsewhere. Other people do this as well, but he doesn’t condescend to me when he tells me these things. Have I mentioned that he’s swell? Really, he advised me to post a PayPal link because he wanted to donate money in the name of my wanderlust. (Thanks!)

You can be swell too. You can also spy on my Amazon wish list and see what my favorite pen is. The Amazon list is slim right now and was influenced by NPR for a day or so. But now that I know you’re looking at it, I’ll probably start wanting more things. Maybe. My lust for things is fleeting. I get bored easily. It’s a curse and a blessing. Maybe this will encourage me to chronicle my fleeting lust. We’ll see.

Amazon is nice, but I love http://www.thethingsIwant.com. I have a button right on my links bar that says “Wish” and anytime I am shopping on any site and see something I want, I click the wish button and it adds it to my list – picture, price, website, how bad I want it, and any notes on it. Love it, love it, love it.

You did not post that ugly cat bird man girl on my birthday. What kind of salute to my greatness is that?

Sarah: Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy birthday to Greatness, Happy Birthday to you. I’ll post something nice for your birthday later. After something wacky happens at your party.

Sadly, Christy, you don’t need a reality check. You need a fantasy check! Let’s brainstorm some outrageous idea tomorrow night. Oh, I have a good one.

Maybe we can do that tonight if you don’t mind being near my inflamed sinuses.

Boo. When did you get inflamed sinuses? I’m not scared of them. I’m racing to get my work done.
